5 Ways to Motivate Yourself During This Lockdown
It’s no surprise that a lot of us are struggling to find motivation during this lockdown. We haven’t got the sun shining this time round and everything seems much duller and more uninviting.
It’s no surprise that a lot of us are struggling to find motivation during this lockdown. We haven’t got the sun shining this time round and everything seems much duller and more uninviting. Cosying up on the sofa in our pjs and vegging all day seems much more appealing. It seems the lack of sunshine has given some of us a lack of motivation, us included! So, how can we motivate ourselves during this lockdown? We’ve written our top ideas down for you to see if they help you as much as us!
Get up and get dressed!
This may seem obvious, but it’s very easy to stay in bed that bit longer, or to sit around in our pj’s all day. Getting yourself up and out of bed and straight into clothes can make you much more proactive from the get go.
Plan your day.
Now, there’s not loads you can go out and do at the moment. Planning your day can really help you get that workout done, especially if you add times to your plan. Plan your week, the days you’re going to workout and what workout you’re going to do (and stick to it!)
Mix it up!
Variety will ensure you don’t get bored or plateau. There are lots of different workout styles you can try. How about try one of our HIIT workouts on a Monday and then mix it up with our other classes. Boxfit, Glute Camp, Metcon, there’s plenty in our virtual timetable for you to choose from!
Workout with someone.
If you have a plan to workout (virtually) with someone, you’ll be much more determined to stick to it. Join one of our virtual classes or work out with a friend via Zoom. This will make you accountable and it will be much easier to commit to a workout and get you going.
Make goals.
Goals can be small or big, have a long timeframe or a small one. How about setting some SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Time bound – for those who haven’t set goals before) specifically for lockdown or some bigger ones you can work towards now and finish post lockdown?
Whatever you decide to do, remember you are definitely not alone in the lack of motivation department and your UG family is always here to support you.
